Write an IT policy document to be used as Election propaganda for NPP Sri Lanka. Limit to first 300 words. It must adhere to Marxist / Leftist principles. It must focus on current Sri Lankan crisis and ways to overcome in a Marxist style solution. It doesn't have to be democratic as much.
NPP IT Policy Statement
Reclaiming Sovereignty through Digital Empowerment
In the face of the current economic collapse engineered by a corrupt and exploitative elite, the NPP stands firm in our commitment to revolutionize Sri Lanka's technological landscape. We believe that the digital economy should serve the people, not the interests of multinational corporations or local oligarchs. Our IT policy is built on the foundation of Marxist principles, aiming to empower the working class and dismantle the capitalist structures that have driven our nation into crisis.
Nationalization of Critical IT Infrastructure
The first step in our policy is the nationalization of all critical IT infrastructure. The internet, telecommunications, and data centers will be owned and controlled by the state, ensuring that these essential services are accessible to all citizens, free from capitalist exploitation. By doing so, we will guarantee affordable and universal access to information and communication technologies, a basic human right in the modern era.
Digital Literacy for All
We will launch a nationwide campaign to achieve 100% digital literacy within five years. Our goal is to equip every citizen, regardless of age or background, with the skills needed to participate in the digital economy. This will be achieved through free education programs, community-based training, and state-supported online platforms.
Open-Source and Cooperative Software Development
We will promote the development and use of open-source software, reducing dependence on expensive foreign products. By fostering a cooperative model of software development, we will ensure that technology serves the collective good, rather than private profit.
Data Sovereignty
All data generated within Sri Lanka will be stored and processed on servers within the country, under strict state supervision. This will protect our national security, safeguard the privacy of our citizens, and prevent exploitation by foreign powers.
Together, we can harness the power of technology to build a socialist state that serves the people, not the capitalists.
