Not a catholic here but I believe the Old Testament is one of the most imaginative and definitive pieces of philosophy to be ever written. The fact that OT and the Talmud was composed at least 3000 years ago is simply awe-inspiring.

New Testament is okay but as soon as it starts to turn into Christianity- and then into Catholicism- the magic in the original document begins to dissipate IMO. There's a price to pay for the democratization of God, I guess.
