හිසට වෙඩි වැදීමෙන් ජයවර්ධනපුර රෝහලේ රෝහල්ගතව සිටි දුමින්ද සිල්වා මන්ත්රීවරයා ප්රතිකාර ලබාදීම සඳහා සිංගප්පුරුවට ගෙනයාම පිලිබඳ අද පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී කතාබහක් ඇති වුවා.
දයාසිරි ජයසේකර මන්ත්රීවරයා විමසා සිටියේ වෙඩි තැබීමේ සිද්ධියකට සම්බන්ධව සිටින දුමින්ද සිල්වා මන්ත්රීවරයාට අවසරයකින් තොරව රටින් පිටව යාමට හැකියාව ලැබුනේ කෙසේදැයි කියාය.
එයට පිළිතුරු දුන් නිමල් සිරිපාල අමාත්යවරයා කියා සිටියේ දුමින්ද සිල්වා රෝහලේදී සිහිමඳ ගතියකින් සිටි බවත් ඔහුට හරිහැටි කතා කිරීමට නොහැකි තත්වයක පසුවූ බවය.
තවදුරටත් කරුණු පැහැදිලිකල අමාත්යවරයා කියා සිටියේ මානුෂික හේතුන් උඩ රෝගියෙකුට ප්රතිකාර ගැනීමට විදෙස්ගත වීමට අවස්ථාව හිමිවෙන අතර එසේ නොමැති වුවත් පොලිසිය මගින් දුමින්ද සිල්වා මන්ත්රීවරයා සැකකරුවෙක් ලෙස නම්කොට නොමැති බවත් කිසිදු පරීක්ෂණයකදී ඔහුට විරුද්ධව චෝදනා එල්ලවී නොමැති බවත්ය.

Police could not record a statement from MP Duminda Silva who was injured in the shooting incident on October8, because he was lying unconscious in the hospital bed,” the government informed Parliament today.
Leader of the House Nimal Siripala de Silva said that Mr. Duminda Silva sought treatment in the intensive care unit of Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital from October till November 1. After that, he was taken abroad for further treatment by his family members.
“During the period, MP Silva was unconscious. He could not utter words properly. Therefore, police did not record a statement from him,” the Leader of the House said in response to a question by UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.
Mr. Jayasekera asked how a person allegedly involved in a serious incident was allowed to be taken out of the country with the sponsorship of the government.
The Leader of the House said that Mr. Duminda Silva had not been identified as a suspect wanted in a court of law, and therefore, there could not be any barrier for him to leave the country for medical treatment.
“According to humanitarian principles, any injured person should be allowed to seek medical treatment. Police have not identified him as a suspect. He is not an accused of any case so far. Therefore, we cannot prevent him from being taken out of the country,” Mr. de Silva said.
Responding to the allegation that Assistant Superintend of Police Samudrajeewa involved in the investigations into this shooting incident was transferred all of a sudden, the Leader of the House said this police officer was transferred only to fill a vacancy created in the Mount Lavinia Police Division.
“ASP Samudrajeewa was not involved in the arrest of suspects of the assassination of Mr. Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra,” he said.
He said, “ASP W.R.I.K. Karunakelage who worked in Mount Lavinia was transferred to Anuradhapura following various reports against him. Mr. Samudrajeewa was sent there to fill that vacancy only.”
