This was the fate of most of the politicians who were honest. He died before 1982 that is how Nirupama being eldest contested in by election with Dr. Ranjith Atapattu and lost. Her brother Shamlal who joined Attorney Gen Dept (and also had a short time with Provincial Council as speaker) went to Kenya to earn money (as an honest person). So they were rich but not after 1977 . Nirupama 's husband also had money but not to this extent. If they can prove how they got money I have no problem!!(they cant)</p></blockquote><p></p>
