The shop at the corner of Union place and Vauxhall street at Hyde park corner( I cant remember the name of that shop ) was one of those places who sell Land Rover stuff.   I went there and  gave my old hose to the man behind the counter, he ask his assistant to go and find one from store room.   While there was no other customers he was having a chat with me and ask details about my car and so on. I told him about the crash and everything. But I never expect him to reduce the price or give me a discount.   At that time that assistant boy found the correct hose and hand it over to his boss.  Then this man, told me an unbelievable thing. He said "I cant sell this below xxx amount. But, if you can go to SRI LANKA STATE TRADING (TRACTOR) COPORATION (TAKTAR SANSTHAWA), you can buy this very same thing for 1/3 of my price. Massey Ferguson 135 hose is exactly same (both British made things with old BSPF threads),   Furthermore he said, I feel like you are in trouble these days. (I don't know this guy. He doesn't know me, we never met before.) But for some reason he wants to help me, and doing so, he is going to lost his profit.   I thanked him and went to  TRACTOR SANSTHAAWA and bought it for less than 1/3 of his price, (at that time land rovers considered as luxury vehicles and taxed a lot , but tractors and parts are exempt from tax.)   To this date I have this good deed in my head, and always happy to let the others know, that "the world is not such a bad place".<img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/happy.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Happy    :)" data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
