(some ppl says rupas are not attractive, think again) baits/rupa are bad by nature/construction? No... they are pleasant, attractive, sensual etc... but they are bad (because of the hook underneath) only in the sense that they are dangerous to the fish that bites them who will be caught by fisherman/maraඉදින් භික්‍ෂුතෙම එය පතාද, එය ප්‍රියයයි මනාපයයි කියයිද, එහි ගැලී සිටීද, මහණෙනි, මේ භික්‍ෂුතෙම මාරයාගේ බිලිකටුව ගිල්ලාවූ විනාශයට පැමිණියාවූ, ව්‍යසනයට පැමිණියාවූ, මරුවාට කැමති දෙයක් කළහැකියෙක් වේයයි කියනු ලැබේ.if a monk/fish goes toward it approves it is pleasant, clings to it (upadana), this monk has swqllowed the hook., came to ruin, danger...------------------------“මහණෙනි, චක්ඛු විඤ්ඤාණයෙන් දතයුතුවූ ඉෂ්ටවූ කාන්තවූ මනාපවූ ප්‍රිය ස්වභාව ඇත්තාවූ කම්සැප එලවන්නාවූ ඇලුම් කටයුතුවූ රූපයෝද ඇත්තාහ. same as beforeඉදින් භික්‍ෂුතෙම එය නොපතාද, එය ප්‍රියයයි මනාපයයි නොකියාද, එහි ගැලී නොසිටීද, මහණෙනි, a monk (arihat) who doesnt approve it, doesnt cling to it (rupa/bait still has attractive nature, but wise fish doesnt cling coz he sees the hook)මේ භික්‍ෂුතෙම මාරයාගේ බිලිය නොගිල මාරයාගේ බිලිය බින්දේය. විනාශයට නොපැමිණියාවූ, ව්‍යසනයට නොපැමිණියාවූ, මරුවා විසින් කැමති දෙයක් කළහැකියෙක් නොවේයයි කියනු ලැබේ.this fish makes the hook (with the bait) useless, harmless by not swallowing it. mara can catch him no more.</blockquote>
