A group of persons from the 5th Mile Post area in Hingurakgoda, had to undergo this unfortunate incident.
These individuals had to carry the coffin for more than 7 kilometers towards the cemetery.
In order to lessen the difficulty of the strenuous task, they decided to carry the coffin, by crossing the Minneriya stream.
Residents of the area say that about 200 families of several villages in the area are suffering from the lack of a proper road to travel.
The residents say that though they have informed the relevant authorities countless times of this situation, it had been to no avail.
