Dadap, Java Island, Indonesia – May 13, 2016 Three men—15-year-old Rahmat Alim, 23-year-old Rahmat Alifin, and 23-year-old Imam Harpiadi—committed a brutal and sadistic rape-murder against their 18-year-old colleague, Eno Fariha They worked at the same plastic factory, which also provided their housing. They broke into the room where the victim was sleeping, brutally raped her, then shoved a gardening hoe into her vagina while she was still alive. The 60cm handle remained inside her. They then suffocated her with a pillow. Each had a different motive for the killing. The youngest, Rafmat, stated, "I killed her because she refused to have sex with me." Alifin claimed, "The victim frequently mocked me and ridiculed my ugly appearance." Imam admitted he loved Eno, but she never reciprocated his feelings. All three were arrested by police just one day after the incident. Public opinion demanded the death penalty for the perpetrators. However, all three were ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment.
