Not sure how you get that message 'perform badly" But if they are doing so probably because of lack of proper maintenance of the machines and the skill of the people flying them.

No one have to tell. It's obvious. Western equipmemts are reaching frontlines very quickly. There are many long range attacks on the targets deep inside Russian controlled area. Russians are struggling to target those batteries where the fire is comming from. There is no advance of the Russian forces. Those things don't happen if Russia has the air superiority. Entire Iraqi Army collapsed shortly after a month.
