Can't prosecute when it is sanctioned by the government itself (they were prosecuted but the culprits were acquitted because they had broad "licenses" from the Rajapakse government that allowed them to operate however they wanted)

From 2025 it's managed as a state enterprise by the Navy rather than through Avant Garde.

I have already read that Sunday Times article. But does that mean the Avantgarde is not operating any armouries anymore?

As far as I know the global shipping industry is dominated by private corporations. These entities do not engage in commercial activities with govt militaries, even then financial transactions with govt militaries are complicated in the shipping industry.

So the Navy handling maritime security for shipping lines, not sure how successful or is it just some news article.

Does that mean these govts have not conducted a thorough investigation into Avantegarde's 'illegal' operations before licensing them? Or just turned a blind eye? Also, why wouldn't these govts deploy their Navies to handle these operations like SL is supposedly doing now, and instead awarding armoury contracts to this 'illegal arms smuggler'?

But it's listed as a "fishing vessel" as of now.
