His Tv series Cosmos was one of the best at that time it was based on his own World's best selling science book by the same name (over 100 million copies at that time) . This was shown in SL in 80s.
Now there is a new series of 'Cosmos' by Fox Nat Geo after 50 years from original narrated by Neil DeGrasse Tyson Spacetime Odyssey.
Both were excellent productions . I do not know with more than 10 channels if one bothered to show this new masterpiece. (when we had only one channel and that was also for less than 5 hrs per day , Cosmos was shown ! Credit should be given for such people who selected only the best with fraction of information that is available to us now.) Hats off to Chairman of ITN and Rupawanini at that time .
PS one child who got inspired from Cosmos at that time . few years ago won Carl Sagan Medal at Prestigious Ivy League Uni . A boy with very humble beginning. https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2020/08/dean-ray-jayawardhana-awarded-carl-sagan-medal
    Knowledge from these are immense.

“Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.”
    ― Carl Sagan.

One of the greats and ireplaceables. Sadly he passed away too young in December 1996 at the age of 62 while battling bone marrow disease.
