Some hotels require key card to access lifts or inside area).  Otherwise if guest asked you to wait at the lobby, find a seat and wait. Don't get nervous or don't worry about language. They can speak sinhala.That's what I do if I'm going to unfamiliar hotel. Because everything depend on the hotel policies. Some don't care about outside guests going straight to rooms but some stop you and ask questions and even ask ID for security reasons.</blockquote>
