TOTP code generated offline, so you don’t need internet access or telephone connectivity, also you can generate them on multiple devices.
For me totp codes are safer and more reliable than SMS

මම 2 Google Accounts (1 Primary account and other for backup) and 2 Microsoft Accounts (1 Primary account and other for backup) Use කරනවා. 2FA විතරක් nemeyi Emails/ Documents / Pictures / Contacts / SMS / Backups මක්කොම Manage කර ගන්නේ ඹය Accounts 4n.

for that you need another device already signed in with your google account. Im saying assume u only have ur phone with google account. then u lose ur phone and then you wont be able to sign in, unless you have backup code saved somewhere else. Thats the issue with google authenticator.

ow tawa phone ekak tiyanawa nan issue ekak na assuming u dont carry both phones at the same time. What you can do is use an authenticator that allow you export your keys (with password protection) and save that file somewhere. so You can easily restore in case if you lose your device.
