What I do not understand is Why USA is soo bothered about a small country like us.

I don't know the truth of these stories about Fonseka unless of course he's tried in a court and proved guilty , but I'd like to comment on this part..

Why wouldn't you think U.S is not interested in Sri Lanka?

Don't underestimate the strategic value of Sri Lanka's location in the Indian ocean.. everybody is interested in Sri Lanka, CHINA is interested because it has no real foot hold in South Asia to control India... U.S is interested for the same reason..

Look at Hawaii... why do you think its under U.S? because it has HUGE military strategic value being in the middle of pacific ocean where it bridges the gap between the "backdoors" of Asia and America... So size doesn't matter in this game!
