Sri Lanka Cricket announced Kusal Janith Perera has been called in to the Sri Lanka Cricket team as an additional player to replace injured Dimuth Karunaratne.
Sanath Jayasuriya, Chairman of the National Select Committee sai:
Dimuth Karunaratne had injured his finger while fielding today. After a X-Ray doctors indicated that the finger was fractured and he will have to face a surgery.
Although four members of the Sri Lankan team were injured, he notes that the team is mentally stable due to good performances by Sri Lanka’s top guns Dilshan, Sangakkara and Mahela which started off from the Afghanistan game. We are reaching the critical stages of the tournament.
