I kind of like this
The truth is he got runs in Ban,Eng match because he was lucky.and against Aussies the luck didn't favor him and got out for 1 run.against Afghan he simply couldn't play a straight ball.So I would definitely not play him in the eleven.and suddenly this happens! again everything happens for a good reason

if you look at the averages,no of runs,partnerships,100s and even experience or whatever Tharanga is our best man to opening slot after Jayasuriya,Kalu,Marvan era no need to tell about his stats.

Sure he is fisher out side the off stump.but it simply can't put him out of the opening slot.be it Sanath,be it Dilshan he always managed to have good partnerships.

I am not favouring a player.but its a matter of fact.unless he is out of form which any player can be, I will open with him 9 times of 10

This is my team for probably the next 4 matches until the final. assuming we don't injure someone again
