( A Ligand is molecule that irreversibly binds to a receiving protein molecule, otherwise known as a receptor)</p><p>It was approved for patients who has a biomarker called dMMR. this biomarker is commonly associated with endometrial, colorectal and other gastrointestinal cancers... but also it may be in other solid tumors too.</p><p>In normal cells MMR (MisMatch Repair) process corrects DNA replication errors using enzymes. basically it checks the integrity of the DNA strand and fixes any mistakes. For some people who are dMMR (deficient MMR) these enzymes do not function as normal, thus the errors are not corrected leading towards a cancer cell.</p><p></p><p>Dostarlimab can be used in combination with Niraparib, Carboplatin–Paclitaxel, sometimes with Bevacizumab in advanced cancers. If you check the US databases you could probably find several thousands of cancer trials using these drugs. Also wonder how long and the associated costs it takes to test, develop these drugs.</p><p>(These guys aren't as advanced as our local druids who mix thel & pani concoctions <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/yes.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":yes:" title="Yes :yes:" data-shortname=":yes:" /> )</p><p></p><p>Monoclonal antibodies aren't cheap. Dostarlimab was given to the test patients <strong>every three to six months at a cost of $11,000 each dose. </strong>If the drug proves itself many governments will subsidise cost to the patients.
