APA. Secretary of Georgia’s Security Council Alexander Lomaia said that 10 Russian military aircrafts, which violated the country’s airspace within the past two days, had been shot down, APA reports quoting Regnum.
Lomaia said at the meeting of the Security Council that 4 aircrafts had been shot down in the second half of the day.
“Our Air Defense Systems recorded all these facts. All the materials will be demonstrated after the military operations are over,” he said.
Lomaia said the body of one of the dead Russian pilots had been found.
President Mikhail Saakashvili said Russia admitted that only two planes had been shot down and underlined it was a great progress.
“Until the last minute they refuted that their aircrafts had been shot down,” he said.
