The Colombo Fraud Bureau has arrested 119 persons who were attempting to illegally travel to Australia and other countries, the Police Media Unit told Ceylon Today Online.
The suspects were arrested in Galle Face and Negombo areas this morning. Six agents were also arrested in this investigation. The suspects were residents of the Chilaw and Negombo areas. A sum of two hundred thousand was paid by each of these illegal migrants. The main smuggler is a resident of the Chilaw and reportedly had Rs. 3.1 million in his custody.
