25 killed, container belonged to Chinese company

The container that exploded belonged to a Chinese company and the explosives were used to for highway construction, Director General of the MCNS Laksman Hulugalla told Ada Derana. He added that the two foreigners who were killed were Chinese nationals working for the Construction Company and the total death toll now stands at 25.



Damages have been reported to the nearby police station and the vicinity, he said.

If this happened in Australia, it would be a national tragedy. But in SL, the container owner can getaway saying it was a "mistake". If there is one relative of those 25 dead, who is familiar with the law, he can by all means file a case against that company for negligence and claim damages like in the case of that medical student who got hurt at the BMICH.

මඩකළපුව - කරදියනාරු පොලීසිය අසල සිදුවූ පිපිරීමෙන් 62 ක පමණ පිරිසක් මරුමුවට පත්ව ඇති බවට සැකකරන බව හමුදා මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක මේජර් ජෙනරාල් උභය මැදවල මහතා පවසයි.

මෙම පිරිසෙන් 60 දෙනෙකු පමණ පොලිස් ස්ථානය තුළ සිටි පිරිසක් බව ද දෙදෙනෙකු චීන ජාතික විදේශිකයන් බව ද හෙතෙම සඳහන් කළේය.
