50 Cent Tells GZA To "Shut Up," Prodigy Still Mad At "Gay-Z," Ice Cube Gets Gangsta
1. G-Unit Soulja. Cue Superman's theme song. Hip-Hop's Man of Steel, Curtis Jackson, is stepping into save a damsel in distress. At a recent show in London, Wu-Tang's GZA proved Wu-Tag ain't for the kids anymore. Cranking up an anti-Soulja Boy crowd, that shouted "f--k Soulja Boy," GZA himself took shots at Curtis for having a lack of talent. "F--k 50 Cent," he said. [Watch Here]
Well word got back to Fif while he was on tour in Amsterdam, and of course, 50 swooped in for the kill on the rap vet. During a taped segment of "G-Unit radio" on Whoo Kid's Sirius Satellite radio program, 50 praised the young rapper saying "Soulja Boy is hot," while going in on GZA's age. "GZA should just shut up! Just shut up! The kid is sixteen years old and we googled you and you was born in '66. Yo, he was born in 1966. I have an old school Impala your age." [Listen Here]
Is this a desperate ploy by Curtis to cash in on Soulja Boy's growing fame, as his wanes? Also, what happened to Wu-Tang unity? Used to be you dissed someone in the Wu and they'd form like Voltron on that @$$.
2. Prodigy's Got Unfinished Business With Jay-Z. With only a few days of freedom left, you'd think Prodigy would be feeling a sense of forgive and forget. Hmm...maybe not. After all, this is the same dude that was teaching his seed how to become the next D.C. sniper. [Watch Here] It's been over six years since Jay-Z exposed Prodigy's ballerina days at Summer Jam and the "Captial P" is still mad. He was able to put hurt feelings aside to work on Def Jam artist and Mobb affiliate Sam Scarfo's album, but he's not about to let Hov off that easy.
Here's what he told Rhapsody.
"He's always gonna be Gay-Z no matter what. We could do business or even if he wants a beat from Havoc, that n--ga's still Gay-Z to me. We seen each other in Justin's [right after the infamous 2001 Summer Jam, where the Jay/Mobb Deep/Nas beef took off]. I was with a whole bunch of my n--gas. It was just him and like one or two security guards. Soon as he seen me, he just walked straight up to me with his hand out like, 'Yo, it's all love. It ain't beef. It's just rap.' I'm like, 'Yeah, aright whatever.' He seen how I could have did him. We Mobb Deep. It's not a game. It's for real, son. It's a whole gang of us. We not playing. We from the 'hood. He thought we were gonna pounce on him. My n--gas wanted to jump on him."

3. Gangster Rap Made Ice Cube Do It. Just peeped the trailer of Ice Cube's new movie First Sunday, and it got me to thinking. What the hell ever happened to the stone cold gangster rapper from N.W.A. Or the loc'd out OG from Boys N Da Hood. Remember Dough Boy? "We got a problem here?" Man, before all the kiddie-friendly PG-13 movies, Ice Cube was one of Amerikkka's worst nightmares. Young, black and just didn't give a f--k. Apparently, from the looks of the video of his latest single "Gangster Rap Made Me Do It," the rap icon is seemingly going back to his roots. The jumpoff to his 8th solo album, Raw Footage, the visually shocking video takes no prisoners as it shows graphic clips from the War in Iraq to gang violence in America. Granted, the lyrics sound like they were grandfathered in from his N.W.A days, but Cube grabs your attention as he touches on everything from Don Imus to Mike Vick. [Watch Here]

4. Really DMX? Really?! Where's Michael Vick when you need him? We've got a seriously wounded dog that needs putting down. Pronto! One-time hip-hop superstar DMX is planning to drop a double album this year. Part hardcore rap, part gospel. Yeah that's not a typo. Gospel! Yeah we know homie been preaching on his albums from day one, but we don't even want to hear you do regular rap, much less gospel. Grrrrgh!
Dog Man X tells MTV:
"I [was] the first n--ga to put out two albums in one year [It's Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood in 1998], now I'm gonna hit 'em again - drop two albums on the same f--kin' day, yo. A double album will make muthaf--kas mad, because they gotta spend more money."
