go easy on me guys! im not in touch with H/W stuff at all :(

Q6600
4GB RAM
MBorad ?
VGA ?
500GB HDD (around 15k at Barclays: your choice though)
19" Samsung LCD

Do i need to buy some additional RAID controller card ?(or should i go with s/w raid?(if something like that is there in the first place :P) and btw this is just a gaming machine so do i need RAID? :P

is there any point in looking at DDR3 RAM?

where is nunet? i was hoping to buy this stuff from barcklyies(wrong spelling again... can't bother)...
Don't know about mobo, and there are very few SLI mobo's around so it won't be any issue. Pick one randomly. Just google for few reviews to see any negative points.

VGA? wtf! I said two 9600GT's in SLI :/

Why would you go for a single 500GB HDD when you can get two 250GB drives and RAID them? I'm not sure about RAID on nVidia mobo's, but on Intel, if you have ICH8R or ICH9R, you get hardware RAID. you only need an expansion card if you go for higher degree RAIDs.

DDR3? I'm not even considering them in my next PC :P

Nunet is in front of Sala Enterprises in Pamankada. They are the agents for Foxconn. So are Barclays. But not sure if Barclays have the 96GT.

will there be a significant drop in prices? then i would wait i guess, money comes hard for me...
These price changes are effective in USA. It will take a while to see them in SL :D

No I don't want to. Maybe you do.

What EPP does is supporting n00bs who don't know to overclock, by overclocking the RAM automatically. When the mobo detects EPP on a RAM, it just sets that EPP clock speed because it is certified to run at that clock speed. This is pure marketing.

Instead you can get DDR2-1200 anyway, and do your thing the good old way; manually from BIOS. What's the big deal?
    no point of arguing further:no:
it is not just overclocking to me:no:
well you do your way & i do mine:nerd:

I just don't understand you. If you run the same RAM at 1200MHz (manually overclocked; say 400MHz FSB and 3x multi) on a P35 chipset mobo, it will perform exactly the same as on an SLI modo with EPP 1200MHz selected.

    8800GT is about 30000. :P

If they have started selling those 9600GT cards at NuNet, you should grab two of them, which will cost you "only" 34000, and they will smoke a single 8800GT even in their sleep :P

EPP is all about overclocking. But AUTO overclocking, not manual :P

I'm not talking about SLI. I'm talking about EPP.

    my personal opinion,

if ur in SL dont buy ATI unless U have AC :( Becuase ATI good cards are very powerful & hence release a hell of a lot of heat & if not cooled properly it will burn out very soon. Trust me coz this happend to many of my friends including me. :(

Now adayas Nvidia cards are very good so you can go for a Nvidia :)

if you rely on RTS rather than FPS then concentrate on a good CPU. 2GB memory would be sufficient for now.

FYI - Win XP 32 bit edition with a 32 bit cpu can handle a maximum of 4GB memory

    Cheers,

Believe me,it will not run like that even though it is said.It will however will run @ 1200MHz on looser timings or screwup some other thing.
