While toasting a glass of scotch with friends & family on my Birthday, very surreptitiously, I keep a two minute silence, in tribute to a man I admire most, a visionary who lived & died for his fellow country men, a great man, who’s life taken away from us, in a very gloomy day in the very month of November many years ago, Rohana Wijeweera, only man who diagnosed correctly the woes of Sri Lankan society, the man who taught people to stand against unjust, the man who tried to find solutions for many tribulations of masses, working class, more importantly, the man who fought & stood for a common course, sacrificed his precious life for the very common course.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: Indigo"><span style="font-size: 15px"></span></span></p><p><span style="color: Indigo"><span style="font-size: 15px">He did not win the revolution, hence did not become a legend like Che’, there were enough so called “Leftists” to crucify Wijeweera & his brain child JVP, nevertheless, like the bird phoenix, JVP rose from ashes, not once, but twice, it has the quality & endurance to fight & survive the current dire situation too, because that quality is embedded in that phenomenal political movement by this great man Rohana Wijeweera, he had walked thousand miles, waited fruitless hours at factory & university precincts, missed many meals, which caused damages to his vital organs…………..to build JVP.
