    I guess it is about 5% probably. The older mechanical thermostats will have this in-built, by the nature of its inherent design but even the modern digital thermostats will have some sort of hysteresis programmed into it to prevent the compressor from cutting in and out. Quite sensible to have an operating temperature band.
    Someone in the aircon field might be able to provide a more definitive answer!

    from where did you get this 5%? same tolerance for all domestic AC?
