But here's my take.Sadly ADHD often gets misdiagnosed in SL.  Sometimes it is not easy too. The doctors do not spend time with the patient and normally a drug is prescribed after one minute of seeing the patient's face. Otherwise they cannot keep up with their busy schedule.Bipolar disorder and ADHD are very different conditions, but they share some similar symptoms - hence many ADHD cases gets treated for bipolar. This can lead into a worse situation.Also there could be a connection between these two as well. Recent research shows that ADHD can develop into Bipolar in some cases.Sadly ADHD is lifetime. The drugs can help only to manage it.There are much recent drug regimens available for the treatment of ADHD. I will not name them. Most of these drugs are very expensive and certainly not available in SL or prescribed. I don't think even the long acting version of the most common drug prescribed is available.There are other strategies as well. One is food. Keeping away form Chocolates & Sugar.Yoga or meditation can help. Recently for children, Neurofeedback is used.This method involves having a child focus on certain tasks while connected to a computer that tracks brain wave patterns and the child is made to control the activity. There are mixed results with this method but I don't think it is still accepted as mainstream.</blockquote>
