it looks like not many in srilanka using ADSL wifi routers with inbuilt modems. everybodys connecting their modems to PC via USB.

Advantages of having a Wifi router.
Inbuilt DHCP supports upto 32 PCs and internet sharing.
No more speed problems due to your PC slowdown or OS problem. steady stream of data all the time
24/7 online and access internet from anywhere in the house from your laptop
connect your game console via network cable strait to the router and go online gaming.

Bulid a small home network and share your files printer, security cams etc.

Avarage price Belking 802.1g around 20k sl rupees (i am not sure about this)
SLT shop does not have this type of gadgets big shame

now u can get a DLink router for 10500,one of my friend got one last week,with wireless adapter,it costs 13000-14000.

dude dont go fr prolink routers,I know Prolink work fine,but I think a prolink modem @ SLT will costs around 17000[thats the price when I checked last time],instead of that u can go for a good brand.

You are absolutly correct bro. Prolink H9601 sucks.. I also got a H9601 when my H9600 was faced to a lightning problem. Belive me or not i had to change that 3 times after buying that because of that disconecting problem. I took it from SLT and all the samples i took from there stocks for testing gave the same problem when i was at SLT premises. Its the problem of that latest brand of Prolink and i had to buy H9600 from company. Dont ever try H9601 and H9600 is 10000 times better that that.

Well bro one word for bandwidth problem. Actualy ADSL provides it maximum bandwidth ( 512kbps) if our home situated withing the place of 2Km orbit from the exchange. If u are staying away from 2km orbit, you may probably get bandwidth reduction as well as conection terminations sometimes.

Best way to use ADSL is wihout using USB drivers on your PC for any Modems. try to connect to your ADSL via RJ45 (eithernet cables) by using a router with inbuilt modem. router will configure your connection automaticaly and will be connected 24/7 without having to reconfigure your modem everytime u turn on your PC.

Ask SLT before purchasing any router for competibility

machan i also had to change two prolink h9601 modems. both from SLT.

yes machan exchange eke indan nam apita tikak durai machan. 2km orbit ekata yanthamin ahuwela innawa. machan normally mage downloding speed eka 5 - 4 Mbps wage tiyanawa 1 minute walata. Internet Download Manager use karanakota. umbalage speed eka kohomada?

RJ45 use karanawanam thamai honda. usb tikak wela yanawa connection eka gannath. network cable eka gahala thibbama machine eka on karanna witharai tiyenne.
