For nearly a month the scanners at the airport was not working at they were not fixed. Had they been fixed, this sick kid would've been detected at the airport itself and there would've been no possibility of an outbreak.

Swine Flu scanners at Airport out of order, doctors warn of disease coming to Sri Lanka
Monday, May 4, 2009, 15:33 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
May 04, Colombo: The Sri Lanka's Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) today warned that measures taken by the Sri Lanka Health authorities to prevent Influenza A (H1N1) entering the country are not sufficient.
A spokesman for the GMOA said that all four scanners placed at the country's main International Airport in Katunayake to detect travelers carrying the disease are not functioning.
"In this circumstances there was a risk and can not be prevented the disease coming into the country," the GMOA warned.
A Health Ministry official while claiming that the scanners would be repaired soon and said that action has been taken to prevent the disease coming to Sri Lanka.
