Unconfirmed reports state that security forces are firing into the air after shutting down electricity in Colombo and areas around the Bandaranaike International Airport in a move to prevent any LTTE air crafts entering into the International Airport in Katunayake and the Air force base which is situated adjacent to the airport. Unconfirmed reports state that the radar system at the Katunayake Air Force base has been activated after sounds of an unidentified aircraft was heard, coming towards the air force base from Puttalam. Civilians reportedly alerted the nearby police initially after hearing the sounds of aircrafts, with initial numbers claiming it to be three but a spokesman attached to the media centre for national security claiming that it was one aircraft. Sources also said that the no incidents reported from the international airport, at the time this report was filed.</p></blockquote><p></p>
