Eye witness reports say that Opposition candidate General (Retired) Sarath Fonseka and his close political associates have reserved 70 rooms at The Cinnamon Lake Hotel in Colomboand were holding discussions.

Sri Lanka Army personnel in large numbers are said to have surrounded the hotel to thwart any attempts to obstruct any breach of the law by certain interested groups, say sources.
