Talk about a real bummer. We're WoW junkies ourselves, and you can’t imagine how many of the guys blame raid wipes on the speed of their graphics cards.

As i heard this baby can be overclocked upto ~90%
and smooth HD playback is possible even with a sloppy Sempron 3200+

im not sure a sempron 3200+ can play high quality HD very well, cuz even the Athlon64 3200+ i have cant cope with some HD videos, but using VC-1 or for H.264 Core AVC might smooth it out

I cant find anything wrong with my HD playback.....I tried those Nvidia 8series HD videos and some other HDs...Its smooth.......I have a P4 530 btw....

im not sure a sempron 3200+ can play high quality HD very well, cuz even the Athlon64 3200+ i have cant cope with some HD videos, but using VC-1 or for H.264 Core AVC might smooth it out

Whats ur GPU machan,iirc u've sold ur x300 neda I'm not telling anything is wrong with HD playback,i mean it greatly offloads CPU from video decoding burden,my 8600GT keeps CPU at ~10% usage when playing 1080p videos

u can try a 1080p h.264 with 12mbps or more data rate and see how slow it gets.

aww yes the pure video 2 newest revision is very good at handling HD h.264 stuff but not VC-1, ur 8600 has pure video 2 of a early revision, its a bit slower but still very capable

Sorry to say all Geforce 8400/8500/8600/8800GT s are PureVideo -2 supported,venerable 8800GTX/GTS and 7 series cards are PureVideo-1

you can download some very demanding H.264 videos from the apple movie trailer site, look for the Fountain 1080p trailer it has some really nasty rain seen where it needs a lots of horse power, nways my core 2 can handle almost all the HD vids with no probs cuz its @ 3.2 Ghz, itll slow a Northwood to a crawl, the most demanding HD videos iwe watched are BBC planet earth 1080p HD DVD the download is 45GB and without hardware acceleration it eats up 70% of ma core 2 @ 3.2GHz at times.
