They gave a very low profile to the Fort railway station bomb, and didn't mentioned anything about the DSS students.</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><em><span style="color: #000080"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">" On Sunday at least 11 people were killed in a suicide attack at the main railway station in Colombo"</span></span></em></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">But compared to this, in </span><a href="http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/news/journalists-danger-sri-lanka-20080205" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">their press release on Sri Lankan press freedom</span></a><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">, they go in to details of individual incidents mentioning even the names of journalist who were said to be attacked, condemning each of the incidents. </span></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">Reading through their press release on press freedom, gives us the idea that the main source of information for them should be the "Colombo based FMM".</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><em><span style="color: #000080"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">"the Colombo-based Free Media Movement reported that five persons entered the Colombo home of Suhaib M Kasim, the associate editor of the Sri Lankan state-owned Tamil daily Thinakaran. They forcibly took him to his veranda and stabbed him in his abdomen."</span></span></em></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">And we have very good reasons to believe, even the below information was included in the AI press release, based on the information provided to them by the FMM</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><em><span style="color: #000080"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">"Journalists in the South of the country also play an important role exposing corruption among politicians and the military."</span></span></em></span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">People behind the FMM would have earned their "something" by selling these information to AI. Because, AI regularly needs this type of information, for their existence. And no NGO will provide anti-LTTE stories to the AI, because they seems to be paid by the LTTE, for not reporting.</span></span></p></blockquote><p></p>
