Another five-year-old girl, raped and killed in Srilanka

The body of a five-year-old girl, raped and killed, was discovered by the Norwood Police in a drain in the Kirkoswald Estate on Wednesday afternoon. It was reported to the Police that the child Priyawardani was missing since August 31. When the Police recovered the body a huge stone had been placed over it. Hatton Magistrate Wasantha Pradeep Jayatilleke who visited the scene directed the Nawalapitiya JMO to arrange for a postmortem and submit a report to Court. People thronged to the area where the body was found, on hearing of the news.
