Explosion caused by Claymore Mine

Police say the explosion in Wellawatte was caused by a claymore mine placed on the center of the road. One person was killed and at least 4 others including 3 school children were among those injured.

The Director of the Kalubowila Hospital says one of the victims who sustained injuries following the explosion in Wellawatte this morning was in serious condition. One person dies and four others including school children were injured.

Road is closed from Vihara Lane upto Wellawatte Dialog Telekom Branch. So Vehicles can't enter from either side. Vehicles travel from Dehiwala to Colombo have to take Marine Drive route or 163 route(Dehiwala-Nugegoda).
