iphone 3Gs have 256mb of ram 800 mHz arm 8 processor so its fast it will defineatly get update from apple since new ipod touch (4g) and ipad has 256 mb ram

if u going to buy one try to finend iphone 3Gs old bootrom since you are going to jailbreak it old boot rom is the easiest to jaibreak

Don't but he 3gs.. you are going to be worried about that.. wait a few months and buy the iphone 4 or if u are in a hurry go for android. Cause i think android is better than jailbroken iphone.. Why take the risk? not worth it!

The only place you can get FW update for iphone is from Apple via iTunes. that is so obvious isnt it.
of course your existing Jailbreak and Unlock by redsnow, greenpoison, pink pather lol or wot ever they call it, will get wiped out by new firmware update.

also theres no way to unlock or jailbrak using tempory patch software, once you have upgraded to newer IOS (name of the new apple fw)
