Sri Lanka army infantrymen backed by armour and artillery support continued their thrust into the LTTE dominated areas in the South of Adampan this morning (January 25). According to the defence sources heavy clashes erupted around 8.45.a.m. when the troops ran at a bunker defence manned by LTTE terrorists.
According to the available information, troops have destroyed seven LTTE bunkers killing at least 09 LTTE cadres. Also, it is believed at least 12 others have suffered injuries in the incident. Two army soldiers have suffered serious injuries and directed to immediate medical attention, defence sources said.
