Fort Magistrate today issued an arrest warrant on Deputy General Manager of the Independent Television Network (ITN) Sudarman Radaliyagoda after he was accused for giving a forged document to clear a stock of scrap iron of the Sri Lanka Telecom.
The arrest warrant was issued after the Fraud Bureau informed Courts that a forged letter given by Mr Radaliyagoda to two businessmen had been detected and therefore they wanted to take him to custody.
The businessman had taken the letter along with them and produced it to the Telecom to clear stock 1,828 tonns of scrap iron, but the Chief Store Kpeer had found that his signature had been forged and the police was informed.
The two businessman were later arrested and remanded.
However the lawyers of the two businessman had claimed that their clients were not involved and it was Mr. Radaliyagoda who had given the letter after a payment of Rs. 1.5 million was made to him.
Last week Mr Radaliyagoda had returned the Rs. 1.5 million to the brother of one businessman.
