Clarke was born is up for sale.     Sir Arthur Charles Clarke was born in 13 Blenheim Road on December 16 1917.     And a flat in the historic house is being sold through Wilkie May and Tuckwood for an asking price of £109,950. (Sri lankan Rs. 20.7 million)  Sir Arthur was a British science fiction author, inventor and futurist and most fam-ous for writing the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey.   The book was written in collaboration with director Stanley Kubrick, a collaboration which also produced the film of the same name.     Sir Arthur grew up in Bishops Lydeard and started at the then Huish’s Grammar School – now Richard Huish College – in Taunton on his tenth birthday.   Sir Arthur emigrated to Sri Lanka in 1956 largely to pursue his interest in scuba diving and lived there until his death in March 2008.
