In  the year 2005 Aruni became the Carpi Queen and though she  wanted to  contest for Miss Sri Lanka Pageant in the year 2006.  Ultimately she was  crowned as Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2007 and  ReeBonn Miss Sri  Lanka for Miss Universe 2008.</blockquote>
