Since this may have had an effect on the buying power of Investors, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) halted the market to ensure a fair and orderly market. The CSE with the concurrence of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will cancel transactions of Equity Securities carried out today, prior to the market halt. Trading will resume no sooner all transactions are cancelled and all orders which have been placed after 9 am on 7th January 2026 have been purged.
