Still milking the RV670 cow, AMD has given the okey for the making of the Radeon HD 3850 X2 and Asus is now the first to announce such a card. Just like its bigger brother, the 3850 X2 relies on two 55nm-built RV670 GPUs put on one PCB and linked through a PCIe bridge chip.

For the EAH3850X2/HTDI/1G, Asus hasn't strained too far from the basic idea but it did equip the card with the dual-fan, dual-slot cooling system also uses on the 3870 X2. Boasting 1GB of memory, the card offers no less than 640 Stream Processors, DirectX 10.1 support and has the GPU and memory clocks set to a 3850 standard - 668 and 1658 MHz respectively. The dual-DVI-featuring Radeon HD 3850 X2 is set to hit the stores later this month at a price tag hovering over the $300.

The card looks awesome.....
