well well a brother that ask da same Q as me. i used to argue da same question with my brother.............im fightin 4 nvidia n him for ATI. (im using a asus nvidia g force 7800GTX 256mb card now), when it comes 2 picture n video the quality is good on ATI, but i dnt c any different in both. needless 2 say most games r designed for nvidia cards. ATL still hav som problems with dual card setup(runnin wires r shit), but nvidia has a clean n gr8 setup 4 that. n ATI still hav some driver problems 2, 4 nvidia its smooth as slik....no problem wit drivers at all. if u ask me i recommend the nvidia, coz they r still strong. n when goin for a processor, well im stuck on that 2. the choice is up 2 ya weather goin for a Inter dualcore, core2 duo or AMDX2, AMD64, AMDFX. coz they both hav gr8 powerful processors. always go for a good. cheers.

u r confused from ur username.I'll start from the easy Q.Right now u cant beat Intel with C2D from Athlons existing.U can only catch up with FX 70s but only catch up.Barcelona will do the task. But AMDs are dirty cheap now and Intel will become too.So AMD is facing hard times now with the aquisition of ATI which costed 6 bils.
To the VGAs.
ATI cards r usually better in graphic and video quality. Many ATIs come with HDCP,VIVO,AVIVO features so its like a theater. Can record easily too.
Wired crossfire came with the first crossfire cards. Then it came into a bridge like nVidias and now usually they are software crossfired.there r 4 modes too which u can select.
I dont think u use vista. Its a hell of a trouble with DX10 cards and 9 too with vista.Sudden reboots , crashing all the way, even playing solitaire too. They had the 8 series 6 months b4 in the market but still the drivers are shit.
ATI too hav the driver probs but not that much about 40~50% frm nVidia. But X1950XTX is fine now as Ive heard.
The games are designed for both.Remember the Game makers knw that they only have their game market in America/Europe.In Asia its pirated. So they only care about USA/Europe and there both have even shares.
And since now steam is giving some games free for ATI owners , ATI cards hav a boost from marketing. And AMD hav aquired them so the chipset support and CPU support is available in the upcoming chips.
Running a dual card setup means u get 50%max boost of performance.Normally u need them In xtreme conditions such as gaming in 30" displays. So the dual card setup only play a little role here.
