There's no conclusive evidence on Yellow colouring and hyperactivity, even though there could be an association. Also it depends on which chemical is used for the yellow dyeing. However, these can be carcinogenic.
Food dyes does not cause hyperactivity but it could exacerbate the symptoms, specially in kids.
Dyes do not improve the safety or nutritional quality of foods and hence should be removed completely.
