The start of the Australia-Bangladesh Super Eight match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua been delayed to due to a wet outfield.

There was heavy overnight rain in Antigua, leaving the conditions unfit for play to start on time.

The ground staff is trying their best to dry out the ground with the help of the super sopper.

An inspection took place at 9:30 am local time but the playing conditions were not good enough to start play.

    Update:
Some good news now: "The sun's out, the wind's out, we are coming back out every half hour," says umpire Billy Bowden. "We are positive we can get a game in." 2:47pm (18:47 GMT) start is the latest to get 20 overs each in. Next inspection at 12.45 (16:45 GMT)

I think if the match gets shortened to 20ovs it would favor Aussies cos they have Some Big hitters.. Bangladeshis would find it really hard to stop Oz carnage! :(

    Yes.
However, with 50 overs, I thought Aussies were looking at 400 this time :D

Don't think so machan.. Bangladesh opening bowling pair is most of the time very accurate and they have good left arm spin to backup.. But spinners wont make a difference if they have only 20 ovs per inning..

But Australians have been fearless to take the charge against any bowler, up to now. That is a very important difference I see compared to other teams.

The pitch is not a 400 one.. It has something for the bowlers. We saw how difficult it was for Aussies in first 20 or so ovs to get adapted to the conditions in Windies match..
