*** LATEST UPDATE *** No Invitations for 60 Points **
In a concerning update, latest invitation round of 1st Sept 2016 had not a single EOI with 60 points got selected out of 1400 applications of 189 and 100 of 489.
This shows that competition is getting hard day by day specially selected occupations like IT and Accounting. Its still easy for other occupations under medical, trade and management.
Due to high levels of demand, and in keeping with previous years, the below occupation groups will be subject to pro rata arrangements to ensure availability of invitations across the programme year.
SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and then remaining to Skilled – Regional (Provisional) visas (subclass 489). If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas in these occupations.
- Accountants
- Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers
- ICT Business and System Analysts
- Software and Applications Programmers
- Other Engineering Professionals
- Computer Network Professionals
✪ Accountants with 70 points and who have lodged their EOI untill 31 July 2016 10.51 am had received invitation in last round.
- Majority applicants need either Superior English (8 each or equivalent) or high experience in accounting to reach at 70 points.
✪ Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers with 70 points and EOI lodgement before 24 August 2016 4.53 pm has received their invitation to apply for visa.
✪ ICT Business and System Analysts with 65 points and EOI lodged before 25 April 2016 11.22 am has been successful in receiving the invitation.
- 28% + Seats are filled up till the day.
✪ Software and Applications Programmers need 65 to get invite for applications done before 20 August 2016 12.44 pm.
- 28% + Seats are filled up till the day.
✪ Other Engineering Professionals with 65 points with lodgement of EOI before 19 August 2016 11.55 am is invited now for visa application.
- Over 50% seats are filled up so will need higher points to get quicker invite.
✪ Computer Network Professionals who has 65 points with EOI lodged before 19 August 2016 10.49 pm has got the invitation for visa application.
- 47% of seats are already invited so get higher points for quicker invitation.
For Accounting and IT Graduates, they must get 70 points for most of the occupations to get quicker invitations and Accounting graduates should not expect this to come down to 60 points.
