In a strongly patriarchal country like Sri Lanka, a woman who kills her husband would not likely be protected by the law. In Sri Lanka 60% of women are abused or raped, according to statistics, and less than 3% of the men are ever brought to justice. That is very frightening and goes against Australia’s democratic principles and sense of fair play and equality for all.We as a nation reject the mistreatment of women and children. We want to be known as a nation with zero tolerance for domestic abuse and violence and we can start by offering protection to this woman who has suffered enough already.We appeal to Mr Peter Dutton, MP, the Federal Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, to grant Chamari Liyanage safe haven in Australia.අහිංසක නිසා වෙන්න ඇති මිනිහගේ අසාමාන්‍ය ලිංගික වැඩ වලට උදව් දීලා!  ( කලින් නිව්ස් එකත් බලන්න ! මේ නිව්ස් එකේ ඒ ගැන සදහන් නැහැ !  )  රටට අන්තිමට ඒ මිනිහව අමානුෂික ලෙස මිටියෙන් ගහල මැරුවේ දොස්තර, තමන් කැමති දේශපාලූවා, නළුවා, නිළිය, ගායකයා, නම් උන් ඕන වැරද්දක් කලත් සමහර ගොනුන්ට උන් තරම් වෙන දෙයක් නැහැ ! මිනිමරුවත් උන් හොදයි !ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු   ඕස්ට්‍රෙලියානු මේක ලංකාවේ උනා නම් මේ කාන්තාව මෙලහකට ජීවිතාන්තය දක්වා හිරේ ! කල්පනා කරලා බලන්න තමන්ගේ මනුස්සයාට මේ තරම් ලොකු මිටියකින් ගහලා මරන්නේ අහිංසක කෙනෙක්ද කියලා මිනිහ එපා නම් දික්කසාද වෙන්න තිබුණා... ඒත් මිනිහ එපා වෙන්නේ මොකද මෙයත් ඒ මිනිහගේ අසාමාන්‍ය ලිංගික වැඩ වලට උදව් දීලා.. අර ලිංගික වැඩ වලට යොදා ගත්ත ලාබාල ළමයා  ගෙදර ඇරලවලා තියෙන්නෙත් මෙයාම තමයි </blockquote>
