That's not at all a stupid decision machang. That's actually good I think.
Because LTTE buggers never came on the routes where there are road blocks. They always used the alternative routs.
AFAIK now there are random checks. So checking randomly is really good rather than having a permanent check point. [But the problem is I don't know how effectively they do it]
Definitely the drug lords got a good relief coz of removing the road blocks coz they always tried to bribe the police and use the main route. But LTTE wasn't like that. Having road blocks didn't stop them from attacking the air port, kolonnawa oil installation and even Ratmalana.
Not so sure about that bung. I visited Rathnapura last week. Last Time I visited there were several major check points at homagama(near the camp) , hanwella and kuruwita (near the gajaba regiment)..But now they're not there anymore..I think It's horrible to remove the check points at homagama and kuruwita, because they were so important for the safety of two regiments..

I think all the other places are left vurnable for attacks like this..
Ya LTTE uses alternative paths.. But they sometimes use the main roads too machang..Remember that huge bomb lorry caught at Gokaralla police check point last year? ( Colombo - Dambulla main road)

If that was missed by the checkpoint.. I can't even imagine how that'll be..

Random cheking is good..But There's possibillity of miising many things ne...
Ya bung explosions did happen under tight security. But look what's happening now? one explosion in the morning, and one explosion in the evening..

I was about to attend a seminar at Ingrin today. but mom told me not to go because of the present situation.. The situation here is very unpredictable bung..
