Somalatha, a resident of Mahingoda told The Island that when she was readying to take her son to the Montessori, the next door neighbour told her that he heard the cries of a baby coming from the toilet pit. She had gone to the toilet with her husband W. G. Benedict, removed the wooden planks covering the pit and pulled the baby out.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="color: Green"><span style="font-size: 15px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'"></span></span></span></p><p><span style="color: Green"><span style="font-size: 15px"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS'">The baby’s body had been covered with excreta.
