Bakery owners today warned that they would go ahead with a proposed increase of bread and other products over the weekend, if the government fails to give them a response for their demands.
A spokesman for the Association said that they proposed increase the prices of bread between Rs. three to six, unless the government provides subsidy for flour.
He said they have asked for an appointment with Minister of Trade Johnston Fernando to discuss the issue, but so far have not got a response.
