Telegraphic exchange rates -
applicable when converting all non-cash transactions from one currency to another. The Bank buy or sell rates are applied based on what currency you want to convert to or from the local currency respectively. E.g. you want to send local currency USD1000 from your US dollar account to your beneficiary's Canadian dollar account by electronic transfer. The Bank sells Canadian dollars at the telegraphic exchange rate of USD1:CAD1.6. This results in your USD1000 being converted to CAD1600 for your beneficiary's account.
Notes exchange rates
applicable when converting cash from one currency to another. The method of converting currencies is the same as above except that the notes rates are used instead. E.g. you want to convert 100 Australian dollars to the local currency of US dollars . The Bank buy rate for notes is USD1:AUD1.7. We will convert AUD100 and pay you USD58.23 in exchange.
