[COLOMBO , 2006.10.24 11:44AM] A truck that was being turned into a four wheeled bomb targeted for Colombo was seized from a garage in Arayampathi in Batticaloa by the STF. The owner of the truck and a businessman were arrested by the Batticaloa police.
The truck was meant to be sent to Colombo to target an important landmark. Parts of the truck had been removed to be fitted with explosives when the STF personnel raided the garage
The lorry has been handed over to the Batticaloa Police.
The raid was conducted on a tip off.
Meanwhile Police informed to be aware when traveling to Colombo as there are 6 vehicles carrying explosives. If you see one of these vehicles please call the nearest Police station. Please stay away from these vehicles also.

227-0727 - ISUZU Elf White colour Lorry
252-7876 - TOYOTA Lite Ace White colour Van
Up GO-5652 - Dolphin White colour Van
GH-4085 - Motor Cycle
GH-3742 - Motor Cycle
GH-9990 - Motor Cycle
